#1. Based on the survey, I learned that I am more Interpersonal than I always thought. I always seemed to be more Intrapersonal.
#2. From the video, I learned that if you are good at something, know a lot about a certain topic, or are in a situation that pertains to both, you will want to show off your talent and finish the task at hand.

    • Aimee Merchant says:

I scored the exact same on Interpersonal and Intrapersonal. I’m sure you can be a little of both. I was also very surprised at what my natural intelligence is. I always thought I was more spatial-visual than anything, but ended up having musical intelligence. Spatial-visual was the second highest.

I like how you worded that…”you will want to show off your talent”. That’s awesome. You know we all do it. Lol.

    • Torey Sheehy says:

#1 I see that were are something alike but it is always good to find someone who is something like you.

#2 You made a lot of sense with your views. Being able to show off your greatness is perfect.

    • Robin Russo says:

Being intrapersonal, you would want to gain a deeper understanding of yourself. This could be a good motivation to do something.

    • Hannah Williams says:

#1 I learned that I am very interpersonal as well.
#2 I agree that if you are good at something you will show it off. Example: Running cross country

  2. Hannah says:

The video is the same as last weeks.

  3. michael abeyta says:

I’m unable to watch the video. It’s not even showing up.

    • Admin says:

      Hello Michael.

Were you able to watch the video in the last assignment or posting? If so, this is the same video, just a different question related to the content in the video.
If you cannot watch it here, just go back to the previous posting.

      Thanks

  4. Aimee Merchant says:

    1) By taking this inventory, I discovered that I’m more musical. I always new that I was passionate about music, but I didn’t think that it would be the highest on the intelligence inventory. I thought my natural intelligence would have been spatial-visual. It was the second highest number, so I wasn’t too far off.

    2) From the video, I learned that I can use my natural intelligence or abilities to help motivate me by finding something meaningful to me, something I’m good at, and something I’m passionate about. Using my natural intelligence, I can get and stay motivated by finding something in every task that I am good at. It will be easier to accomplish everyday tasks, even the ones I don’t want to do, if I set goals that are meaningful to me and I am excited about. I can also stay motivated if I set goals that I am passionate about. By doing something that I am naturally good at and passionate about, I will be more motivated and able to finish the tasks that need to be done.

    • Torey Sheehy says:

#1 Music is great and I always thought music was going to be me also but I was interpersonal.

#2 Using your inter-intelligence is always a great thing to do.

      • Aimee Merchant says:

It’s surprising what you learn from taking intelligence tests or personality tests. You’re always learning something about yourself that you never new. I like taking them. It intrigues me.

        • Navin says:

I definitely agree! Taking tests like this helps us to understand what we do best, and also how we can use our skills effectively in the future.

        • Christy Derito says:

If you like to learn about yourself then you have “Intrapersonal” intelligence! I do too. I look for something new about myself everyday!

      • Tabatha says:

That’s pretty much how mine turned out I kinda knew I was music driven always, but to be able to have that drive my motivation is amazing.

        • Nelson Giraldo says:

I thinks is cool how this test can help you realized the abilities that you have, it can definetely boost you confidence and give a different mind set.

    • Robin Russo says:

Since you have good musical skills, it would most likely follow that you are passionate about music. Maybe this skill and passion could be a good motivation for you, like listening to music while you work.

      • Aimee Merchant says:

I listen to music when I work all the time. It relaxes me and I guess keeps a million thoughts from running through my head so I can actually concentrate. Thanks for the advice!

        • Nelson Giraldo says:

I feel the same way about music, I think all of us can relate to the fact that music is like water for the soul, at least that’s how I make through my day.

          • Christy Derito says:

I am the same way. This semester I have found 2 ways of balancing my day. MUSIC AND YOGA! It is amazing how much better I can handle life and the unexpected! Makes a lot of since becuase my test said I was intrapersonal and kinesthetic.

    • Hannah Williams says:

#1 Musical was my lowest intelligence.

#2 Natural intelligence is a good thing because it really does drive you in various parts of your life!

    • Marcus Goff says:

Aimee I feel you are correct about using your natural intelligance to help motivate you. It’s something I’ve aways used to keep me motivated because you’re able to find out the things that really interest you. And I think we should all set goals that are meaningful to us because it shows a sence of purpose.

  5. Torey Sheehy says:

    #1 Based on the Survey:
    • I have learned that I am interpersonal person and I always kind of knew that because I have always been for myself.

    #2 Based on the Video:
    • Learned that the people can motivate me
    • I also learned that staying on track can motivate you to greatness
    • I learned that my ability to finish every task thoroughly is great for my motivation

    • Navin says:

Actually, being interpersonal means that you’re good at interacting with other people. I think you meant to say “intrapersonal”. I agree that people can be good motivators, as long as they are able to motivate themselves just as well.

  6. Hannah Williams says:

We were supposed to double space our paper with 12 pt font correct? Is that the standard for all the writing we do?

  7. Robin Russo says:

    1. I learned that my strongest intelligence is logical-mathematical, which I expected. Next is intrapersonal. This kind of surprised me. I never really thought that I was too intrapersonal, but now that I think about it, I spend time alone and reflect on my thoughts quite often.

    2. • I learned that if I have a logical reason to do something, this will motivate me.
    • If I have a task that involves math, I will be motivated to do it (like the inventory).
    • When trying to motivate myself, I can logically reason in my own mind through my intrapersonal skills and make myself motivated this way.

    • michael abeyta says:

I also scored high on logical-mathematical and I believe describe it to the tee that if you can see the logic behind doing something it gives you more motivation to see it through.

    • Christy Derito says:

That is very interesting. I am the opposite when it comes to logic and math. I relate and reflect a lot which makes me intrapersonal too.You have a great combination and it seems you have used it to your advantage “When trying to motivate myself, I can logically reason in my own mind through my intrapersonal skills and make myself motivated this way”. Maybe intrapersonal characteristics come from the development of metacognition, in which we learn to evaluate ourself.. making mistakes and correcting ourselves??

  8. Hannah Williams says:

#1 I learned that I am extremely interpersonal, more than I actually though and I am not musical at all.
    #2 The video taught me:
~ If you are interested/ good at something it will help you have more motivation to do it
~ Fear is healthy for motivation, drive them to do something or not
~ If you really want something you will try and so something at all costs

  9. michael abeyta says:

Well I definitely didn’t think I would score highest in interpersonal intelligence. But in some ways I guess it makes sense. Three things I learned are that we will be more likely to strive for success in things we enjoy doing, that I can use my type of intelligence to help me succeed, and that by keeping motivated I can do anything.

    • Marcus Goff says:

When I first tokk a test similar to this one I was surprise at my results. When you understand the meaning of the intelligence you would start seeing more and more of your intelligence come out and become noticable to yourself.

  10. Tabatha says:

I knew that I am driven by music in all aspects, I also has some idea that I was a visual learner and very hands on. I did learn that I am interpersonal which I did not really know. I am a little of both interpersonal and intrapersonal but I scored a little but higher in interpersonal.

What I am passionate about is music and that drives my motivation in learning.
Your ability’s, mine being music, can help you keep yourself motivated about anything you are working on.
Have something that means something to you and this can help keep you motivated and see your final goal.

  11. Navin says:

1)As a result of taking this inventory, I already had an idea that I had excellent communication skills with other people. I scored a 29 on interpersonal intelligence, but I scored a 30 on bodily-kinesthetic intelligence! I knew I was good with my hands, but not enough to top out my interpersonal intelligence score. I was also surprised that I only scored a 28 with my intrapersonal intelligence. I thought that I would have scored the highest, but it looks like I need to work on getting to know myself better!
2)The first thing I learned from the video is that from having a high score on bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, I should try using my hands more often, such as in sports or even doing mechanic work. Also, by scoring high on interpersonal intelligence, I can seek high paying jobs which involve dealing with other people. Finally, with a decent score on intrapersonal intelligence, I learned that I am very reflective about myself, and I actually have a chance at making it as an engineer! That is actually my major, so hopefully the inventory will turn out to be true.

  12. Donald Roeder III says:

#1. I scored the highest on intrapersonal in the inventory, I’ve never had much trouble controlling my emotions and motivation so it was nice to see I scored the highest in that category.

#2. From the video I learned that if I’m good at something I’m going to be more motivated to achieve it so I need to work harder to find the things I enjoy in things I’m not so motivated in doing. I also learned fear plays a big role in my motivation the fear of failing or not doing my best as well as Desire if I want something I’ll be more motivated to get it.

    • Christy Derito says:

I also believe knowing our fears, desires, strengths and weakness can definitely motivate a person. If we do not know what we want or what we are afraid o,f then we do not understand ourselves. The more we understand ourselves the better we will be at turning things into motivations.

  13. Christy Derito says:

When I took the multi intelligence test, I learned that I have am more intrapersonal than anything else. I then looked up what being intrapersonal really meant. I was amazed to see all the characteristics that really make me who I am listed under this. Some of these were intuitive, independent, spends time thinking and reflecting, and likes learning about self. This is very much true when I think about it. I was also interested that is said I was comparatively linguistic than mathematical. I thought I was better at one than the other but this does make a lot of sense because these classes are more difficult for me. They are more difficult because I have a hard time relating these to something I am interested in.

While watching the video, I discovered that I have more abilities than I thought. I am a physical person and usually do well fixing things. I also discovered that my strongest ability is that I am intrapersonal and in touch with myself. I also really like to write but do not do as well speaking. These abilities relate to the results from the multi-intelligence test as well. Now that I understand myself better I believe I can use this to be more motivated and successful.

  14. Marlon says:

I have learned that I have high niche for music. Naturally its half innate and the rest has been taught. I feel that I’m interpersonal intelegence. I’ve notice that I have over time develope other intrapersonal also in the effect that I get alone well with new people and It makes me a good listener and councelor.

  15. CrystalSantos says:

So how does one take the survey? Do I just mark the white box??? Why are they staggered and what do the colored boxes mean?? HELP!

    CMS

  16. CrystalSantos says:

After taking the survey, I found I was more Spatial-Visual than anticipated. I was expecting to be more Linguistic if anything. (Im trilingual)….. Im a people person so I was not surprised to see that I scored higher on my interpersonal than on the INTRApersonal.

From the video, I learned that:
a.) Emotionalizing the reasons for reaching your goal will “exponentially” increase the chances of you comleteing said goal.
b.) I will most definitely use the M.A.P. method to achieving my goals. I never thought that making the reasons for doing something more meaningful was a way to achieve even everyday tasks.
c.) I do like that by using your ability to your advantage to complete something you are passionate about will for sure help you succeed. Very clever motto to live by.

    CMS

  17. Marcus Goff says:

After taking the Multiple Intelligence test I didn’t find anything new out about myself because I took similar test like this in prior classes.I was surprised because the scores with the test I took was very similar to each other,
From the video I learned that I have to use all of my natural intelligences to motivate me to achieve my goals. If was to use they my natural intelligence it would be to much work because I’m using something that comes natural to me. Since I’m an Intrapersonal I feel that I am so aware of myself that I could easily find out what I helps me or keep me motivated me to achieving my goals. Also if your goals have a meaning behind them you will always stay motivated because of the end results you expect to see.

  18. Nelson Giraldo says:

things you learned from the video regarding how your abilities or natural intelligences can help motivate you.

1.in order to be motivated, we must understand ourselves and realized that we all have natural abilities, by doing so; you will always be motivated no matter what.
    2. Think for a second, if you are doing something you don’t like, changes are that you will not be successful, most of us do or work in something that for the most part we are not motivated about it, but when you do something you love, seems like time goes by and you don’t even know it, that is the difference between being motivated and doing something you don’t like, take the time to find you abilities so that you can begin to enjoy what you do daily.
    3. The other thing I would like to say, is that some of us may have some hidden abilities that we ignored, and the only way to find out is by trying something new or maybe looking for some counseling. Being open minded can help us discover new abilities in our lives.
