Chapter 5. How People Learn
1. Read Chapter 5 in your textbook.
2. Complete: “What can Melissa do” by writing your response on a document and then pasting the it to the submission box located in Blackboard.
3. Watch this Video (Yes, this is the same video, however, the question to be answered is different. It is related to Multiple Intelligences):
4. Download and take this inventory: Multiple Intelligence Inventory
5. Answer the following questions in the comment area:
- Did you discover anything new about yourself as a result of taking this inventory?
- Tell me 3 things you learned from the video regarding how your abilities or natural intelligences can help motivate you.
- Please comment on at least two other comments.
Chapter 6 Figuring Out the Task
1. Read Chapter 6 in your textbook.
2. Under the section of your chapter entitled, “How Is the Task Communicated?” do the following:
- Write a 1-2 page paper describing in your own words each of the steps listed in this section.
- In this paper also describe why you believe some students do NOT follow the steps listed here.
3. Submit your paper by copying and pasting it in Blackboard. You may attach it and email it as a backup. However, the primary way to submit this assignment is to copy and paste it!

- Read Chapter 3 in your textbook.
- Write one half page (double space, 12 pt. font, 1 inch margins all around) describing the (4) Types of Academic Attitudes.
- Write a paragraph answering the question, “What can Mario do?” This found toward the end of the chapter.
- Watch this video:
- Write a one half page summary of the video and your reflections. That is, what 1 or 2 things can and will you commit to using.
- Submit all of your work using these two methods:
- Copy and Paste to the Assignment Submission box under Week Three in Blackboard
- Attach a copy using the Assignment Submission

- What areas in life present the most stress for you?
